January/February Wrap-Up

Image
I missed my Wrap-Up for January, so I'm just combining it with February's. Let's do this thing! The first book I read this year was The Ice Dragon by George R.R. Martin. This book was absolutely gorgeous! The story was enchanting and the illustrations were beautiful. Rating: 5/5 stars Next, I found myself in the book for a funny book so I picked up Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. And it was freakin' hilarious! Rating: 5/5 stars I stumbled upon The Chapel Wars by Lindsey Leavitt and couldn't resist picking it up. It was a really cute read and I especially loved getting to see a behind-the-scenes look of the inner workings of Las Vegas wedding chapels. Rating: 4/5 stars My Ex-Boyfriend's Wedding by T. Sue Versteeg was an entertaining read, just not quite what I was expecting. Rating: 3/5 stars I finally read a Black Dagger Brotherhood book! What I didn't realize is that this series definitely works better if read chronologically. However you still get a full und...

July has been a really great month! I turned 20, my kitten, Mia, turned 1, and I read a crap-ton of books (aka 14)!  :) The first book I finished this month was All I've Never Wanted by Ana Huang. Rating: 4/5 stars The Heartbreakers by Ali Novak was really fun, sweet, and entertaining and you can read my full review HERE . Rating: 4/5 stars Where You Least Expect by Lydia Rowan was a quick and cute little romance story that I really liked, but didn't quite love. Rating: 3/5 stars I've been really excited for Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and...

June Wrap-Up

June was a fantastic reading month! And I think I've finally banished my reading slump for good! *knocks on wood* On to the books! The first book I read was Black Rainbow by J.J. McAvoy and it was soooo freakin' good! I definitely recommend you pick it up! #DiverseBooks Rating: 5/5 Stars ACOTAR by Sarah J. Maas was just magical! I completely fell in love with the world and the characters and I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the next one! Rating: 5/5 Stars Coming Out by Lila Rose was a very short and cute story. And how appropriate that I read this in June, the same month that marriage equality won! #LoveWins <3 Rating: 3/5 Stars The next book I picked up was Kane, the third book in L.A. Casey's addictive Slater Brothers series. And I enjoyed it just as much as the others in the series. Rating: 3/5 Stars I couldn't resist giving Linda Kage's A Perfect Ten a try and I'm glad I did. It hit the good romance spot! Rating: 5/5 Stars Scorched by my favori...

May Wrap-Up

Image
The prepubescent gif of Justin Timberlake may be a tad inaccurate since May has already passed, but I couldn't resist.  So I only read 4 books this month and my 2015 Goodreads Challenge is mocking me. Onto the books!! I absolutely had to read The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West! It released at the beginning of the month and was a really cute contemporary read, which is exactly what I was in the mood for! I devoured the entire thing in one sitting because I could not get enough of quirky Gia, adorable Hayden, and their hilarious banter. Next thing I know, I found myself in the mood for a historical romance. So I picked up Catch a Falling Heiress by Laura Lee Guhrke. I really enjoyed this book and gave it a solid 4.5/5 stars. It featured a strong heroine, a swoon-worthy hero, and a big scandal.  One of my favorite authors, Jeaniene Frost, posted a free short story called Pack on her website, so I obviously took the time to read it. It was super, super short but it definitely got...
