New Reviews (for Movies)!!!
I have recently (and when I say recently I really mean these past few months) read a lot of new books and watched a lot of new movies and I will now tell you what I thought about them. But I'm going to split the blogs into two, one for Movies and one for Books. This will be my Movie Review Blog for April 6, 2011!!!

First of all, I will go ahead and get this out of the way. I rented Black Swan and was so excited to see it, because I have heard some really great reviews!!! But I was super disappointed. This movie was........ Weird and slightly disturbing. That is the only way to describe it. The only really AWESOME part was the final dance where she actually grew some black wings and became the black swan. I'm not gonna lie, that part was really cool. But the rest of it, not so much. Of course, don’t just take what I have said here and decide not to watch it; you need to make your own assumptions. I’m just letting you know, that I won’t be buying this movie.
Black Swan
Starring: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel
Storyline:
Short Version: A ballet dancer wins the lead in "Swan Lake" and is perfect for the role of the delicate White Swan - Princess Odette - but slowly loses her mind as she becomes more and more like Odile, the Black Swan.
Long Version: Nina (Natalie Portman) is a ballerina in a New York City ballet company whose life, like all those in her profession, is completely consumed with dance. She lives with her obsessive former ballerina mother Erica who exerts a suffocating control over her. When artistic director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) decides to replace prima ballerina Beth MacIntyre for the opening production of their new season, Swan Lake, Nina is his first choice. But Nina has competition: a new dancer, Lily (Mila Kunis), who impresses Leroy as well. Swan Lake requires a dancer who can play both the White Swan with innocence and grace, and the Black Swan, who represents guile and sensuality. Nina fits the White Swan role perfectly but Lily is the personification of the Black Swan. As the two young dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship, Nina begins to get more in touch with her dark side - a recklessness that threatens to destroy her.

I also rented and watched The Tourist, and I loved it!!! First thing I loved about it, Johnny Depp is in it and he is one of my favorite actors. Second thing, the plot is amazing, I wish I could explain it further but then I would ruin it for you all, so I’ll zip my lips (or should I say hands?) and leave it to you to go watch it because it was just………………… WOW!!!
The Tourist
Starring: Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, and Paul Bettany
Story Line: Elise (Angelina Jolie) sits next to an American tourist, Frank (Johnny Depp), on a train going to Venice. She has chosen him as a decoy, making believe that he is her lover who is wanted by police. Not only will they need to evade the police, but also the mobster whose money her lover stole.

Another movie that I rented was Despicable Me (even though it was a “cartoon”), because I am still a kid at heart. It was so cute and heart-warming. I loved this movie too. I definitely recommend it to not only children but to all adults, because it was absolutely adorable!!!

Storyline:
Short Version: When a criminal mastermind uses a trio of orphan girls as pawns for a grand scheme, he finds their love is profoundly changing him for the better.
Long Version: In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru, planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. (Yes, the moon!) Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. The world's greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.
