Review for Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Title: Anna and the French Kiss

Author: Stephanie Perkins

Publisher: Dutton

Publication Date: December 2, 2010

Synopsis: Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home. As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near - misses end with the French kiss Anna - and readers - have long awaited?

Verdict: **sigh** I just love a great love story. And that is exactly what Anna and the French Kiss is- a great love story. I loved the characters; because each one had depth. They weren't flat characters with one desire that you eventually forget about. All the characters had their own problems, were chasing their own dreams and most importantly had each other. Anna grows a lot throughout this story as she learns more about herself, she's not perfect, but it's one of the things I like most- it makes the characters more real. Now moving on to the other amazing character- St. Clair. He was also a very complex character and just awwwww!!! (This book definitely makes me want to hop on the next flight to Paris!) Meredith was one of Anna's new best friends when she moves to Paris and she loved soccer (or football as they call it in Paris). Rashmi also becomes a very good friend to Anna and was always offering very sound advice. John was St. Clair's best friend and was a very good artist. There is also Bridget which is Anna's best friend back in Atlanta. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I can tell you this- this book was amazingly awesome and you should definitely read it!!! It's a funny (some parts literally had me laughing out loud) and heart-warming rollercoaster ride that you'll want to get on again and again and again. :))
