He must travel over a hundred miles in a landscape transformed by a foot of ash and the destruction of every modern convenience that he has ever known, and through a new world in which disaster has brought out both the best and worst in people desperate for food, water, and warmth. With a combination of nonstop action, a little romance, and very real science, this is a story that is difficult to stop reading and even more difficult to forget.
Verdict: Ashfall by Mike Mullin is one of the most awesome books I have ever read! I loved every page of it and was completely sucked into this new world and loved all of the characters. Alex was uber cool, because he knew tae kwon do and could totally kick your butt but he also had a sweet side!!! Darla was fluent in the language of the mechanics and was equally fierce and amazing! This book had everything: romance, fighting, erupting volcanoes, non-stop action, cross-state adventures, the lists could go on and on! I cannot wait for the release of the sequel Ashen Winter in 2012!!! I could go on and on about this book while I spew a never-ending tirade of praise and gushing compliments on the literary genius of the whole story! But I think the only way to really make you comprehend the sheer awesomeness of this book is tell you to go read it! Now! Because this is not a book that you would want to live your life without ever having read!!! Now I better stop this review before I start giving away spoilers left and right! But I really cannot recommend this book enough!!! ♥

ReplyDeleteI love this book. The characters are downright awesome, the storyline was riveting, and I couldn't stop turning the pages. Seriously, I think I read this book in one day. Mike Mullin never fails to awe me! :) Enjoy the book!
