Synopsis: HER WORLD IS CHANGED FOREVER

Callie lost her parents when the Spore Wars wiped out everyone between the ages of twenty and sixty. She and her little brother, Tyler, go on the run, living as squatters with their friend Michael and fighting off renegades who would kill them for a cookie. Callie's only hope is Prime Destinations, a disturbing place in Beverly Hills run by a mysterious figure known as the Old Man.

He hires teens to rent their bodies to Enders—seniors who want to be young again. Callie, desperate for the money that will keep her, Tyler, and Michael alive, agrees to be a donor. But the neurochip they place in Callie's head malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her renter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, and going out with a senator's grandson. It feels almost like a fairy tale, until Callie discovers that her renter intends to do more than party—and that Prime Destinations' plans are more evil than Callie could ever have imagined. . . .

Verdict: I had heard a lot of good things about Starters, so of course, I had to find out for myself! And let me tell you, the praises everyone are singing are completely true! This book was awesome! The story takes place after this nuclear war has killed off everyone between twenty and sixty. So the only people left are Elders (those over sixty) and their grandchildren and Starters (the young unclaimed minors). The main character is Callie and she is a Starter. She has no living relatives except her younger brother, Tyler, who is sick. Callie, Tyler, and their friend Michael live on the streets. They need money to get water, food, a home, and medical assistance for Tyler. It is illegal for minors to work, therefore Callie ends up going to this place called Prime Destinations where she will get paid to rent her body. This means that an Elder will be able to "take over" her body for a few days in order to relive the days of being a teenager. Callie agrees to do it for Tyler's sake. But things don't go exactly as planned..... This is when the adventure really starts! New friends and enemies were made and there was romance blooming. Lissa Price completely shocked me there at the end and I have some new suspicions that will hopefully be revealed in the sequel (which I am definitely looking forward to). Overall, I thought Starters was a fantastic read that I totally recommend! <3
