Title: Deity
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Series: Covenant, #3
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Publication Date: November 6, 2012

Synopsis: "History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

Mini Review: Jennifer L. Armentrout has done it again- another great installment to the Covenant series! This book was ahhh-mazing and has the type of ending that I'll probably need therapy to recover from. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this: A definite must-read!  <3

Rating: 5/5 Stars

About the Author: USA Today Bestselling Author Jennifer L. Armentrout Lives in West Virginia. All the rumors you heard about her state aren’t true. Well, mostly. Jennifer also writes adult romance under the pen name J. Lynn.

Interview:

First off, I'd like to thank you for joining me on the blog today because I am a HUGE fan!
Thank you!
1. Describe Deity as a tweet  (140 characters or less)!
Gods are not warm and fuzzy, but someone makes Alex all kinds of warm and fuzzy.

2. If you could re-title Deity what would you call it and why?
Originally I wanted it called Gods, but there was a concern that it could be an offensive title.

3. Why, oh why, did you decide to end Deity with such a nail-biting cliffhanger?
It’s so funny to me, because I’ve had people say Pure has a cliffhanger or that Onyx does, and I feel that neither of the books do. Deity does have a very climatic ending, but it was where the book needed to end. It worked.

3. What inspired you to start writing the Covenant series?
I’ve always been fascinated with Greek mythology, so when I started Half-Blood in 2007, I wanted to build a world around Greek society from the time gods were worshipped while modernizing it. I also wanted a strong heroine who didn’t need a guy to protect her. Alex was the first character I created and then it was Aiden, who was originally named Daemon. I’ve also always been a sucker for forbidden love stories and I always knew that I wouldn’t pull the gods in until the poo hit the fan, because the gods of Greek mythology could care less with what goes on until it started messing with their playtime.

4. What kind of research, if any, did you do for the Covenant series?
Research on ancient Greek civilization and lesser known mythologies. I discovered that Christianity has their own version of the Apollyon, known as the Abaddon. Random fact there. I also did research on lesser known gods. Everyone knows the Olympian Twelve, but there were scads of more gods.

5. Do you have a specific place where you write?
I try to write in my office, but I always end up on the couch.

This or That...

Ebook or Real book?
Depends. I read adult romance on ebook and YA in print

Twitter or Facebook?
Depends again. Sometimes people are more responsive on Facebook than Twitter.

Chocolate or Vanilla?
Mmm. Chocolate.

Past or Future?
Future.

Daemon or Alex?
Daemon or Alex? Ha. I could never choose.

And just for fun- What is the strangest thing on your desk right now?
A little Buddha statue and a tiny dreidel. I don’t even know why I have those things on my desk, but I do. Oh. And a glass skull. Don’t ask.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!
