Book Review: Powerless by Tera Lynn Childs & Tracy Deebs

Title: Powerless
Authors: Tera Lynn Childs & Tracy Deebs
Series: The Hero Agenda, #1
Publisher: Sourcebooks Fire
Publication Date: June 2, 2015

Synopsis: Kenna is tired of being "normal". The only thing special about her is that she isn't special at all. Which is frustrating in a world of absolutes. Villains, like the one who killed her father, are bad. Heroes, like her mother and best friend, are good. And Kenna, unlike everyone else around her, is completely ordinary— which she hates.

She’s secretly working on an experiment that will land her a place among the Heroes, but when a Villain saves her life during a break-in at her lab, Kenna discovers there’s a whole lot of gray area when it comes to good and evil and who she can trust.. After all…not all strength comes from superpowers.

Review: I am a huge sucker for superhero books! So I could not have been more excited to read Powerless and, thankfully, Tera Lynn Childs & Tracy Deebs did not disappoint. This book was so freakin' fun!!

The characters were all adorable! And I wanted to hug every member of the gang and maybe make out with one particular villain.... *cough* Draven *cough*

In this world, people are either good guys with superpowers (Heroes) or bad guys with superpowers (Villains). But just like our main character, Kenna, soon discovers, the world isn't always black & white or good & evil. There are always shades of grey. Villains can be good just as Heroes can be bad.

The plot was super engaging, with many twists and turns (some I predicted, some I didn't) all of which I loved. The minute the book ended, I absolutely needed the sequel.... like right now!!

All in all, I absolutely loved this book!! It was fun, action-packed, filled with superpowers, and a misfit gang searching for justice. I definitely recommend you pick this book up if you are a fan of Marvel or if you just enjoy pure awesomeness.
